“If you want to be holy, be kind”
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
Spring flowers aren’t the only thing starting to bloom around here! Acts of kindness are blooming all around St. Francis de Sales on our trees of kindness. A kindness tree is a creative way to encourage acts of kindness within our school. It is a heartwarming way to help foster kind, supportive relationships among the students. Watching the tree come to life as good deeds are added creates positive and uplifting feelings and behavior, making it a highly effective way to build character and reduce bullying. As you’ll see by the examples below there are many variations, some big, some small, but each one is beautiful and unique.
The students have been challenged to show kindness in every way possible whether in the classroom, hallway, cafeteria, or on the playground. Kindness is always appreciated. Each classroom will be leaving a little kindness wherever they go. I will be facilitating classroom guidance on kindness all month long. Students will watch videos, read books, and participate in interactive activities to help promote kindness.
