Dear Parents/ Guardians,

Today the 5th and 6th grade students came together for “Donut Sit Alone Day.” This activity is used to prevent bullying and promote kindness!  During lunch, students were randomly assigned to sit at a new lunch table with the purpose of meeting and connecting with someone new. There were discussion questions placed at each table and the staff helped to facilitate conversation. Sitting at a new place during lunch is a scary thing. So we decided to help make it enjoyable! There was music, donuts, and prizes! All students seemed to really have a great time and try to talk with someone new. I am blown away at how well our falcons did!

On the following page you will see pictures of the preparation leading up to this event and how much fun students had in their groups. Please give your staff and students a big high five for all their help! I couldn’t have done it without them.
