Dear Parents/ Guardians,
This month the 7th and 8th grade students welcomed our monthly career speaker, Nick Bollas! During his career presentation students learned the ins and outs about being an officer/detective. Mr. Bollas graduated from Kent State University for Justice Studies and Business. Nick Bollas has a few falcons of his own here at SFdS.
Nick Bollas educated students on his journey in the law enforcement field. He has had several different positions, starting as a patrolman then moving to be a detective. He has done work as a background investigator, homicide investigator, school resource officer, major crimes investigator, community police officer, and he has been an officer of the Crisis Intervention Team.
Mr. Bollas helped students to understand what to expect in this field, the positives of this rewarding career, and some of challenges. Students were informed of the education and training needed for this career. We learned about the character traits needed and all about the hiring process for this position.
We are so thankful to have Nick Bollas in our community keeping us safe and having him here to help lead our falcons down the right path when choosing their career. Please check out the picture below of Mr. Bollas educating our students.
