Give each student a blank face template.  Choose one that most closely resembles yourself.  Add eyes, nose and mouth. Show samples of these.  Color.  Try to make it look like you.

Cut out and put on background paper.  Add details in clothing that makes it more personal.

Classroom Saint

barnabusOur classroom saint is St. Barnabas.  We will be learning about him all year long.  Here is his prayer:

Grant, O God, that we may follow the example of thy faithful Servant Barnabas, who, seeking not his own renown but the well-being of thy Church, gave generously of his life and substance for the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen
