Weekly Greeting

Updated on 05-12-2017 at 3:34pm.

This week our theme was "Dinosaurs". We read many dinosaur books and talked about the different types. We also talked about paleontolgists and what it would be like to be one. The students got to dig for fossils using chocolate chip cookies :). In math we continued our unit on measrement. This week we focused on measuring the weight of objects and we compared/ contrasted them using the words "heavier" and "lighter". We had so much fun on our field trip listening to the orchestra and learning about the different instruments they use  :). The students also had a blast eating lunch and playing at Boettler Park. It was a busy and wonderful week!

Literacy Skills

Updated on 02-24-2017 at 11:50am.

The month of March is here!  This week we are celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss.  His talents go way beyond rhyming words.  We will celebrating his life with some of our favorite books by Dr. Seuss.  Our week of celebration will include a Readers Theatre, a scavenger hunt and games all focused around Dr. Seuss.

Our Friendly Falcons reading clubs will meet this week to choose our next books.  The 3rd grade girls have made the wonderful choice of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane.  The books are ordered and should be here soon.  Can’t wait to start.  Fourth grade girls should be finishing up the Because of Winn Dixie movie and ready to choose a new book.  Fifth grade is watching The Wizard of Oz.  If anyone is interested in joining a book club please come to the library and help pick a book.

“You’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting.,..... So get on your way!”
