Preschool and Pre-K Program

About our Program

Our students are placed by age appropriateness:

-Preschool: 3-4 year olds

-Pre-Kindergarten: 4-5 year olds

Due to ratio state regulations, each class is required to have a lead teacher and a classroom aide.

We begin our day with whole group circle time; followed by small group instruction which is a combination of teacher led and student directed activities.  All of these activities engage students while meeting both the state and Diocesan standards.

Through our whole group and small group instruction, we cover the following subjects: math, social studies, science, religion, and language arts.  These various activities engage students and allow them to observe, experiment, and problem solve, which is modeled by the teacher during instruction. We incorporate songs, music, movement, and technology during these times.

To meet the needs of each child, students are placed in small groups during centers where they do hands-on activities.  This allows the teacher more time to work with students individually.  Each week we include a theme, as well as focus on a letter of the alphabet.  We incorporate technology in both small group and whole group instruction.  Students interact with the Promethean board, ipads, and a listening center.

St. Francis de Sales

Saint Francis de Sales was born in 1567 and is the patron saint of writers. He earned a doctorate in both canon and civil law from the University of Padua. He was a priest and Bishop of Geneva. His book, Introduction to a Devout Life (1609), addresses how ordinary life can become extraordinary with God. Pope Alexander VII canonized him.
Friendship begun in this world will be taken up again, never to be broken off.
