Emmanuel's Promise
Advent is just around the corner! This year we will celebrate Advent with Emmanuel's Promise as we did last year. Emmanuel’s Promise will be prayed prior to our Advent Masses celebrating the lighting of the Advent candle(s) with prayers. This will begin at 9:00am each Advent school Mass. Advent is a time to take a breath, pause, and allow the Holy Spirit to enter our souls as we wait with joyful anticipation. Keeping Advent will lead us to a more fulfilled celebration of the Nativity on Christmas.
The prayers during Emmanuel’s Promise will focus on the Advent virtues for that week.
The 4 Advent Virtues- Week 1-Hope, Week 2-Love, Week 3 -Joy and Week 4-Peace.
Students in Kindergarten through Grade 4 will prepare and sing a song that reflects Advent on their assigned week. Students from grades 5-8 will lead the prayers and Advent candle lighting. I will send a document for you to list the students in your grade levels to lead these prayers.
