Our arts program serves as a vibrant canvas where creativity knows no bounds, empowering students to express themselves, explore diverse mediums, and unleash their artistic potential in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Arts Programs
Creativity is a critical component to expanding the mind. SFdS offers many art programs to students of all ages.
Art Classes
A dedicated art studio and expert staff help bring our students creative visions to life. Every grade level participates in a variety of art projects every year.
Drama Guild
Each spring our drama guild produces and presents a musical. The musicals offer students many opportunities to participate in multiple areas of the theater arts ranging from set preparation to stage crew and from lead roles to supporting players and the chorus.
Band
Students in grades 5-8 have the opportunity to learn from one of Akron’s greatest High School Band Directors, Mr. Brian Campbell. No experience is necessary as Mr. Campbell offers a beginning band as well as an Advanced band.
Choir
The St. Francis de Sales School Choir is formed by interested children in grades 5-8 who attend the school. Additionally, students in grades 3-4 who are in the Parish Youth Choir are invited to serve in the school choir as well. This choir of young music ministers serves the assembly during school Masses and additional Liturgies.
